CITI University has opened a new route to supporting students and graduates in starting businesses. In 2020, it established the CitiZone Innovation and Business Development Centre to help graduates compete in the labour market, develop faculty and student ideas into projects and cooperate with enterprises.

In the 2021–2022 academic year, the university expanded CitiZone’s activities and began cooperating with members of the Oluulaa business innovation association to support cultural heritage innovation.

The association brings together more than ten companies, including Naad, Tovi Ger Project, OVOO Camping–Ger Tent and Khuyag. Under their cooperation agreement with CITI University, the parties will collaborate in human resources, investment, infrastructure, facilities and business development, and implement several practical projects.
Accordingly, CITI University becomes the first private university to support start-up companies in this manner.

The following projects will be implemented to develop and promote innovation based on cultural heritage.
Product development:
CITI students will undertake internships in projects implemented by cultural heritage innovation exporters, subsequently join project teams and participate directly in product development.
The School of Construction, Architecture and Design will prepare technical production documentation for Khuyag-brand deels, develop products, produce sewing patterns and, subsequently, take responsibility for production.
Content production:
CITI University will act as a key partner in developing, managing and positioning new trends in tourism and the arts with NAMNAA, Nomadic Seeker, singer B. Altanjargal and other individuals and organisations.
Production and services:
Tourism students and faculty will participate directly in projects introducing new approaches to production and services, including Glamping Mongolia and TEMS (Taliin Ezen Makers Space), while the university provides further available support.
The CitiZone Innovation and Business Development Centre remains open to start-ups and entrepreneurs in other sectors and welcomes anyone interested in cooperation.
