CITI University is identifying its student sports champions for the 2021–2022 academic year. Following last week’s volleyball competition, this week’s events determined the chess and draughts champions.
The competition sought to promote chess and draughts, discover students’ talents and interests, and develop logical reasoning and thinking skills, encourage constructive leisure and active social participation. Around 50 students from the six constituent schools took part.
The competition used a Swiss system in which each participant played four games. Players selected by points then contested a round-robin stage to determine the champions.
Eighteen students entered the chess competition:
First: N. Batmunkh, first-year Tourism student
Second: G. Byambajav, first-year Architecture student
Third: B. Ulzii-Ochir, third-year Business student.
Twenty-six students entered the draughts competition:
First: E. Michidmaa, first-year Beauty Therapy student
Second: N. Batmunkh, first-year Tourism student
Third: B. Azjargal, first-year Fashion Design student.
We thank all participating students and the CITI University Student Union, which organised the competition.
