An international architects’ forum took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 15–19 November 2024.

Participants from more than 100 countries across five continents discussed international architectural trends and new proposals. CITI University’s School of Architecture and Design Director E. Shinezaya and lecturer A. Namuun represented Mongolia.

Of more than 800 research submissions, 120 were selected. The Mongolian presentation examined the development of decorative elements used in buildings in socialist-era Mongolia. The joint Mongolian–Malaysian study was co-authored by E. Shinezaya, A. Namuun, B. Baigal-Erdene and Mohd Azli Mohamed Jamil.

The triennial General Assembly of the International Union of Architects (UIA) also convened. Mongolia participated with two votes and voted on amendments to thirteen provisions.

The forum created opportunities to present Mongolian architecture internationally, discuss new initiatives and expand cooperation.
