An interview with G. Munkhbayasgalan, a 2017 Marketing graduate of the School of Business and Director of Operations at DM Sky LLC.

— How did the School of Business alumni reunion go?

— It was an encouraging and productive meeting. We reconnected with friends we had not seen for some time, shared university memories and discussed future cooperation.

— DM Sky presented the university with a voucher worth MNT 10 million. Could you tell us about it?

— Our company aims to contribute to education through its social responsibility work. Studying at CITI University was an important part of my life. We presented the voucher, worth MNT 10 million, to express gratitude to the university, lecturers and students and offer practical support.

— Did the meeting lead to any decisions?

— Yes. Alongside recalling our university years, we discussed initiatives that we could implement together. We agreed to maintain regular contact, support one another and develop further collaborative activities. We intend to make the reunion an annual event, involve new graduates and strengthen the alumni association’s continuity. We also plan to continue donations and projects that contribute to the university’s development.

— How should graduates remain connected with their university?

— A university’s achievements are closely connected with its graduates’ reputation. We should not simply graduate and leave: we should return, support the institution and contribute to it. Alumni can work together on constructive initiatives, set an example for later generations and have a positive social impact.

— Could you share something about your student years?

— I initially planned to study medicine but changed direction after following a friend. I enrolled in Film and Drama at CITI University’s School of Arts, studied there for one year, then transferred to Marketing in my second year and graduated in 2017. That first year was valuable because it developed my speech, ethics and interpersonal skills. I might not have acquired those foundations in the same way had I entered Marketing directly.

— What would you say to prospective Marketing students?

— When I studied Marketing in 2012 and 2013, public understanding of the field was limited. Today, marketing is essential to business. Students interested in it are choosing a relevant profession, but should learn practical approaches alongside theory. In professional work, I have come to understand the value of what our lecturers taught us.

— What does DM Sky currently do?

— Soon after graduating, I established DM Sky LLC with my older brother. We manage sales and operations for advertising billboards on large buildings and LED screens in Ulaanbaatar. We currently manage more than 20 LED screens and over 100 printed billboards. We have worked professionally across the traditional marketing segment for seven years. In 2024, we recorded our highest sales, earned MNT 1 billion in profit and paid MNT 120 million in taxes. During the pandemic, reduced advertising demand prompted us to establish a delivery company, Sun Sun LLC. Starting with two people, it now employs 50–60 staff and handles an average of 400–500 deliveries daily. We plan to expand our activities and enter new fields, developing creative solutions that respond to customers’ needs and market requirements.
