An interview with G. Gantsetseg, a third-year Acting and Directing student at the School of Arts.

— Congratulations on receiving Miss Photogenic at Miss Tourism World. How did you decide to enter?
— Thank you. I am very pleased. I wanted to challenge myself, represent Mongolia and hear my father’s name recognised with pride on an international stage.
— Could you introduce yourself?
— My name is Ganzorig Gantsetseg. I am the middle daughter in a family of five children, with two older brothers and twin younger sisters. I am a third-year Acting student at CITI University and study modelling with G. Oyungerel at Torgo Model Agency. I previously received the Copper Jewel award in the Miss World Mongolia national selection.
— Why did you choose CITI University?
— From childhood, I wanted to become a model and actor. In secondary school I also considered fashion design, but ultimately chose acting. I knew the profession was demanding and decided to commit to it. CITI University appealed to me because of its capable lecturers and learning environment. I telephoned the university for information while in Grade Nine and, after finishing secondary school, enrolled without hesitation.
— What was it like to compete with participants from other countries at Miss Tourism World?
— Meeting women from different countries, sharing experience, learning about their cultures and making friends were the most memorable aspects. Although I approached the challenges calmly, the event was a major learning experience and useful preparation for future competitions.
— What was the most memorable moment?
— Hearing “Mongolia, Ganzorig Gantsetseg” announced on stage and receiving my award. It was an incomparable moment.

— Did your acting studies help you in the competition?
— Certainly. Acting skills helped me remain confident in front of an audience, be myself and fully carry out what I had prepared.
— What professional and personal goals do you have?
— I have many plans and tell myself to make every possible effort in whatever I do.
— Have your next competition dates been announced?
— Not yet.
